Shop By Category (like osCommerce)

Allows visitors to browse your store by clicking through category images. Similar concept as the 'osCommerce' standard way of browsing through an online store. This module:

• manually choose specific categories to have Shop By Category;
• you can put the block code on the Homepage CMS as well, and it will show the main categories;
• resizes category images automatically, and provides admin settings to tweak how it's done (aspect, transparency);
• upload a default category image, or use the Magento default;
• provides a separate Shop By Image file upload attribute for categories, this means you can still use the normal category image for other purposes;
• provides a built-in static block with the category navigation code;
• includes a manual with screenshots;
• select custom number of columns;
• set custom image width and height from admin settings;
• show/hide category names or 'Browse all product' links;
• does not override Magento core functions, thus should not conflict with other modules.

Important note: the module comes with a built-in basic CSS styling for the Magento default themes in versions 1.3.x and 1.4.x. You can style the layout yourself using CSS id #shop-by-category, which wraps around the Shop by Category block.
